SPJ. WSU Past Present and Future!

The Society of Professional Journalists is a national organization with local roots. WSU is no stranger to SPJ. The current SPJ president is Courtney Jordan, and she and her co-president, Ryan Hightower, are a unique professional pair.

WSU’s journalists are a who’s who list of the best in the business. An example is Helen Thomas, the very first female White House correspondent. To notables like Elvis Mitchell, New York Times film critic, and Bob Giles, a Michigan Journalism Hall of Fame inductee, just to name a few recognizable names, and this is only scratching the surface. One thing in common that all these people have is a thirst for knowledge and a drive to succeed.
